Something to do next year!!

I received feedback from work today. Perfomance can be improved by miles...hmm...so I have to excercise some self discipline. I realise lately I have been having to much time on the net.

Either its bloghopping, browsing for recipes, and many other stuffs. I have to cutdown, or at least limit the timing and only do all this sort of of stuffs on night time? Ohh please let me be strong, so that I can improve in my time management. Those little boxes on the right may be visited less frequent, and I maybe not being updated more often. Well at least until I get my act altogether, lets try for the 1st Q, we'll see.

Gambate!!! p(^^)q

Allah Lebih Sayangkan dia....

We are welcoming the new year, bet many are recollecting their moments of 2009. I never thought it would come to this day. One of my closest friend passed away this morning. She has been sick for quite a while. Last communication I had with her was during her birthday on 3rd Dec 09. She was opting for traditional meds after being in and out of hosp for 2-3 times. She sounds hopeful, I wanted to see her quite a few times but I guess she was to embarrassed with her condition. I should have insisted. And now I could not see her forever....

My dear friend, Rasidah Md Yusof passed away this morning at the age of 28. May she rest in peace and may this be a reminder to all of us that living is not just about living, how prepared are we to go 'there'?. May Allah bless her soul and I know Allah loves her more than I do.....

Aminn......

Muallaf - The best ever!!

I watched Mualaf last Sunday with my sister. The cinema was half filled. One row of non Muslim guys were behind me , I think more than 5 of them. This the best Yasmin's film ever, here's why:

  1. It talks about religion without offending others.
  2. Strong and good Islamic values
  3. Strong good family values
  4. Dialouge were spontaneous
  5. Filem ilmiah terbaik abad ini, no nonsense rempit or love or whatsoever
  6. Gets you thinking how far do you know your religion and others?
  7. Favourite scene- when the sisters about to go to sleep, they forgave everybody that hurt them during that day and later recites Ayat Kursi.
  8. Like any other Yasmin's movie, I cried throughout....touching to the very core...
Was thinking to get my colleague to watch, highly recommended, but we don't have cinema in PD, and when I was looking for showtime in Seremban, NONE of the TGV,GSC or MBO is showing Mualaf at all!!!! What is wrong with Malaysians? Suppose we should have this wajib tayang in every states, WTH??

I regret that people in Seremban dan sewaktu dengannya will have to travel extra far just to watch this movie. Its bad enough that Malaysians gets to watch this movie much later than S'porean, and the rest of the world, and now not all big cities are showing it. Truly dissappointed...

Year End BBQ

Tangan gatal nak menulis but I don't know where I put my camera cable and just writing won't do justice to the story. Anyhoo...we had the BBQ last Wednesday. May people turned up but we still have lots of leftovers.
Some prep work behind the scenes...

The guys started lighting up the fire at 5.30pm ish, I rushed home to make the main dish, Vege Fried Rice and Seafood Fried Meehon. Arrived back in Sports Club around 7.00 pm. Already there were one batch of burned chicken... hehehe.....
The weather does not look good, dark clouds were all over us. And right in the middle of the sea I can see the rain is pouring, not a good sign. While some of us moved the food to dining area, which is quite far from BBQ area, the rest of us are still hopeful and even continue 'burning' the chicken under umbrella..huhuhu...

Half of the crowd...the rest under shades, out of the picture ;)

Somebody suggested we should have games, but everybody is so caught up catching up and trying to rescue burnt chicken, so we did not played any games.

Finish clearing up around 11pm-ish, had a lot of helping hands, glad that we managed to pull this through ;) If we can get the same crowd, definitely we can do it again next year.

The Cake is in the Oven

Its end of the year, many people is clearing leave. From this week til new year, we only have 4 work-days a week ;) heaven!!! I have thought about this quite a while, wanted to do a get together with colleague, nasib baik I have Sakina, my cohorts for this pet project. She did the invite,RSVP and such, while I plan for the menu and sort of plan who does what.

The plan : BBQ at Sports Club
The time : This Wed, Dec 16th, after work till midnite?....depends...
The people : SRCPD's staffs, last count, 31 of us ( I was kinda expecting 2 to respond, tapi manalah tahu, the response is overwhelming..hehehe..)
The menu : Still in planning, but roughly have the idea, obviously have to be vegan friendly.

Today after work heading to Jusco S2 to buy more stuffs.

p/s: we did this because we know the co. will not do anything since the budget cut and all...so why not do it our own ;)

Why oh why???

Something irks me yesterday. I suddenly feels the urge to watch movie, browsing TGV and latest they are showing The Storm Warriors....my sis favorite Cheng E-Kin and Aaron Kwok is back with the second installment movie that comes from comics. I think the first one was maybe 10 years ago, or more...

The thing is nobody is available yesterday. I asked this one person whether or not that person is free and up for a movie. Then I get the call;

That person : What movie you wanna watch tonite?
Me: The Storm Warrior,
That person : What?
Me : The Storm Warrior, chinese movie
That person : Ooooo...chinese movie then count me out.
Me : Ok...

What the h*** was that? Its not just this person, in fact many other my friends have reacted this way. Why is it that we always see that only the Malay watch Malay movies...(well at least this one you can blame on the low quality, Yusof Haslam, Razak Mohaidden kinda movie) .

And if at all any HK movies are showing, only the Chinese watch it?

Why is it that Malaysians (all Malay,Chinese,Indian alike) only watch the movie that is of their native tounge?

Why is it that the only genre/type or movie that can unite all these 3 main races is only those come from outside (American movies, Brit movies..etc..etc)

Did we not have a Chinese friend, and Indian co-workers, that the least we should do is open our mind to these alternative entertainment. That I believe will indeed increase our tolerance towards other races.

I have only 1 (ONE) friend so far that watch both Chinese and Malay movie with me. No other people can do both at the same time with me.

Its not about the movie, its about why are we quick to accept foreign stuffs, rather than learn to accept those that is closer to us? Why?

By the way, I have watched Infernal Affairs 3 (a HK triad movie) alone in cinema and I was the only Malay at that time.

It is true that all these HK, Bollywood movies are not local, but they are supposed to be more dear to us rather than all the 'mat saleh' movie, at least in terms of the language, the people and their culture.

Maybe this doesnt make sense to some people but all the small things like this gauge our understanding of other races, and entertainment is actually the most effective education yet.

One more thing, a movie should be watched because of the story line, cinematography and many other factors, not just the language, at least in my opinion ;)

And I Pronounced Thee.....

I was watching TV last weekend like nobody's business. I got to watch the catch up episode of Giuliana & Bill series on E! and also their marriage in Italy episode. I was like aawww..... most of the time. First off I like Bill A LOT, back when he was the contestant in The Apprentice, very handsome, charismatic, and very good businessman (back then he was known as cigar business owner).

When he married Giuliana, I think its a marriage made in heaven, as they look compatible with each other. At the beginning of the episode, both mentioned that they were in no hurry to get married, but somehow fate decides and the proposal came after 10 months they known each other. I must say that the whole interview-proposal-engagement-wedding sounds like fairy tale to me.

I don't know why I'm writing about them, but I like the couple, both of them, and I wish I'll find someone who will be good to me as Bill to Giuliana, and maybe just maybe I can have that kind of wedding and all....

p/s: guess I'm going to be one the loyal fans for the couples weekly episodes ;)

Creepy...or Coincidence?

Have you ever thought that you are unique, that no one likes what extra things that you like, (nope, defintely not talking about vampire craze as many has jumped in the bandwagon for the past 2 years). I am talking about me, yes me...

I thought I have weird combination of interest and my blogging topics were diversed, not the kind that a typical girl would blog about.

I like football, a lot since my friendster blogging days I have blog few entries about football. And this new blog, I have done the same as well.

I like languages, I took Spanish class , level 1 class, but for the second level I could not continue because at that time not enough people are enrolling for Saturday class. So it kinda stop halfway. Am trying to continue maybe next year.

So here's the thing, today is my lazy day of all day (boss not in, so you do the math). I blog-hopped and stumble upon this one blog. The girl actually dig both of the items above, and not just on high level, down to the very detail...

1. She's a fanatic football fan, and somehow we both blogged about Barca winning EUFA Champions Leaugue in 2006 (and both in friendster blog!!!) (see how far I blog hopped?)
2. She also took Spanish Class at Instituto Cervantes,KL in A2 now. Had I continued the class after whole semester of no Saturday class, I would have met her...hahaha..what a small world :)

I left a message on her blog, let see if she responded, if she does, I'll link her blog here..

Actually I have another creepy/coincidence thing back in uni, maybe some other time I'll blog about it. :)

p/s: I have a sneaky feeling that we are born in the same year, why? I don't know..hehehe...

A Little Bit of This.....

Its been a while I have written, despite that I have so many things to talk about.

I watched the 2 eposides of History Channel special on Tun Dr M last Sunday. He will always be my favorite PM of all time and definitely best leader after Prophet Muhammad PBUH. My respect for him is even more than before after seeing the documentary. Despite all the allegation that were thrown to him, I believe that all the things that he have done for Malaysia are for the people's best interest, although people themselves did not acknowledge it. He is a no-nonsense person and speaks from the heart.

Maybe there are things that he did wrong, but hey, he is human to you know, and we humans make mistake. I was closed to reduced to tears when he said in the documentary that he failed in his 22 years to develop the Malay. I say he did not, although it was not a 100% success, but he did managed to shift Malay mindset, develop more Malay professionals than British or anybody could ever anticipated in short 50 years period. Not to mentioned, Malaysians graduate are employed worldwide more than ever before. I for one, is a product of his tenure, and so far am proud of myself and satisfied of what Malaysia has given me so far.

I have this quote on my workstation from him to get through the day,

"We must not antagonise everyone. We must win their hearts and minds. We must win them to our side, not by begging for help from them, but by the honorable way that we struggle to help ourselves. We must not strengthen the enemy by pushing everyone into their camps through irresponsible and unIslamic acts. "

Dr Mahathir Mohamad

Oct 16, 2003 in speech to a summit of 57 Islamic countries

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
On another note, I watched the Barca-Real match on Monday and it was an entertaining ones. I only managed to catch the second half. Although C.Ronaldo was taken out due to injury, but the whole game was fast paced and both teams did their best. Barca is brilliant at counter attacking and Ibrahimovich goal is a result of precise pass from (I can't remember who) . Real did work hard but Puyol and Pique proves to be the solid defence Barca is ever thank for. Valdes was not tested much compared to Casillas on the other side (at least for the second half that I watched).
I have not seen much of Kaka, but believe me once he and C. Ronaldo found their pace, these duo will become unstoppable. However, Messi who has just been announced Ballon d'or (aka European Footballer of the Year) for 2009 is yet the true star. He can get the ball, entangled by 3-4 players and still managed to get away with it. His agility and quick footwork is amazing, and so does Iniesta.

I have always like La Liga compared to BPL. As a Portugal fan, if at all they made it for the final in SA, their greatest rival would be the Spanish team. Many of the Portuguese players either had played or now playing in La Liga, and the patterns and way of playing are very much similar. German would be the one to fear as well, but am thinking Spanish is much bigger threat.

There it is, a little bit of this and a little bit of that....

Erk...

I have not been picking the needles close to one week now, too busy...yeah rite!!! More like too lazy..hehehe...

Anyhooo, how did my interest in this handwork begins? Back in primary school my mum used to do crocheting, and I took liking in it. Soon I learnt how to make 'tali air' and then progress to other stiches. Crotchet is definitely easier than knitting. My mom used to have stacks of photocopied patterns, we only understood the symbols, the rest are in Japanese.. ;)

I even made some doilies to used as TV covers back when I was in secondary school. Last I did crotchet stuffs was when my older sister got engaged. We (mum and I) crochet 7 in total if I'm not mistaken.

Anyhoo...till I have good projects to showcase, layan je my last art piece ;) very the simple, but I like.

Will be on leave tomorrow for Aidiladha, supposed to be working now instead of updating this blog, tapi macam dah check out, my brain is jammed for work.. ;p

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha ;) Don't overdose on the daging korban!!

Finally!!!!

Knitfreak finally learns to knit ;) yay!!!! I was in this mentoring session previous week and the mentor was wearing two gorgeous knitwear, and since she's a 'minah saleh' I figured probably she knits it herself :) So I asked. it turns out she bought the two tops, but she actually can knit!!!

So I started rambling about my non-existence knit adventure, kind off, how I bought 2-3 books but never really understood how to knit a simple line..hehehe...and she was generous enough to offer some free lessons. So the next day after lunch she helps me picks up a suitable yarn for my level (obviously beginner..hehehe..) and she taught me how to make slipknot, casting on, knit and purl.

Shown above is my first attempt to knitting, and that is the purl side ;)

Basically if you know how to knit and purl, you can learn the rest on your own. And this is my first ever 'sifu' at knitting. She is our consultant in Process Safety, based in The Hague, but she's originally came from Nova Scotia, Canada where there are lots of fisherman, and according to her, even her husband knows how to knit, coolll :)

I have started to learn few patterns, have not taken any pics yet. Will update tomorrow.
p/s: I think I can make a scarf now...hehehe...a bit ambitious, I know... :p

Shaken

Yesterday we had a very heavy downpour in PD. Its started in the afternoon, very heavy rain followed by thunder.

I was waiting for the rain to ease down so that I can go back but untill 6.30 nothing much changed, so I decided to go back after all. Along my way back there were few places that the water level risen quite high, some almost to 1 ft.

I get onto the main road leading to my house only to realise that water has risen way too high and I could not turn anywhere as everywhere was filled with water. The road was flooded. There was another car in front of me, I shifted to gear 2 and I saw 3 cars stalled along the road. I was praying so hard that I will not be one of it. I can see streaks of lightning at the same time. Both of my knees were shaken, I was very nervous, I tried balancing on the accelarator and clutch. Finally I get to the safe area, but my knees just wont stop shaking.

I made it to home safely. This morning I turned on the engine, press the clutch, and I could get into gear 1. I know something is wrong somewhere, I turned off the engine. Damn...how am I supposed to go to work if I could not even get to gear 1?

I tried playing with the gear with the engine off, it moved just fine. So I decided to press the clutch, shift to gear 1 and start the engine. The car jerks a bit, but at least it can start. I have actually bypassed the system, not a good way to start the morning, the exhaust was emitting white smoke, which I have never seen before. I figured something is wrong with either my clutch of anything, I don't know about engine, but I guessed this is the after effect of driving through the almost 2ft deep water.

Managed to get to office but I have to spend time to get my car checked. Not sure if I get off fine this time.

Open Letter to Bro Afdlin: Papadom

I watched this movie one week back but I don't have time to sit and write my response for the movie. I posted the same comment on his blog, but last count there is 240+ comment, I bet if he read all. So here goes....

Salam Bro Afdlin,

First of all congratulation on making one of the best movies in 2009. Am honoured that you have chosen my alma mater UiTM to be one of your prime location for this film. From here onwards I will continue in BM.

Pertama sekali berkenaan sahsiah rupa diri pelajar ketika hari pendaftaran.

Perkara kedua mengenai budaya hidup pelajar – pulang terlalu lewat malam (adegan Hisyam menghantar Miasara, keadaan sekeliling gelap gelita dan tiada orang lain lalu lalang.

Well done & wassalam.

My suggestion : go watch the movie, one of the best yet in terms of story line and the filmmaking goes. However as UiTM alumni, I strongly believed that justice was not done to reflect the image in campus, at least in Shah Alam.

My 2 cents ;p

p/s: my 100th post ;) gilela..2 post in a day, nampak sangat takde keje..hehehe...

Once in the blue moon

I watched this VCD last night, With Love ( a Japanese Drama series) and continued this morning. I have watched it more than 10 times I think ;) Nostalgia gila tengok cerita ni...what are the memories?

This is the first VCD Series that I bought after I had my first PC in 2002. I fell in love with the actor immediately Yutaka Takenouchi. This is the story about relationship in cyberspace, background Tokyo, 1998. The guy (pencipta lagu) accidentally sent a piece of his song to this girl. The girl loves that song and later they keep on communicating via mail. Both uses nickname and unknowingly they were quite close to each other in real life. Along the line, both seems to be having the same dilemma, be it about money, being victimised or many other daily challenges and both exchange words of wisdoms via mail.
From this series I also learnt the cute icons such as p(^o^)q this is to express 'gambaro'..which means 'berusahalah'... I have it written on all my textbook (*o*) V

I know its cliche and those type of story only happened in movies but I loike the series so much. The funny part is I bought the series in Kota Raya KL. The basement used to have this one shop that sold Japanese and Korean drama series at good bargain. Went back to Shah Alam, watched the whole series overnight only to realise that the store packed me short of ONE VCD, the last one...how can!!! In order to get my ending, after class that day I took bus to Kota Raya (2hrs ++ ride) and claimed the VCD from the store. They acknowledge it was their mistake. I quickly rushed back to Shah Alam and finally finished watching the series, close 24 hrs after I bought it. One of the things that I do back then.
After that I was head over heels with Yutaka that I keep on buying his drama series, although I don't have all but I have the one movie he did with Kelly Chen, Calmi Couri Appasionati - background in Italy. See, I was that much in love with him....
So just to reminisce the old fling, here are some of his pics (not latest though..)
(this one actually looks like Farid Kamil....but naaahhh...he can never top Yutaka-san ;p)

I like him in all the looks, totally went crazy over this guy (I think I still am..hehehe...) I mean who wouldn't fall for that sometimes badboy, sometimes very deep thinker and sometimes just plain sweet and cute look, am sure I did ;)
btw: once in the blue moon is the song that HAsegawa TAkashi accidentally sent to Teru Teru Bozu.

Me New Toy

I bought this new gadget. After having low maintenance, low budget phone for the last 7 years, I finally bought something of higher grade (;p). I have issues when I was fixing my SIM card to the new phone, it took some time before there is any network line to be detected. I went to Maxis Centre and they (Maxis ppl) were giving me this look...I know its an old SIM card, last I changed was to upgrade to 64K SIM card. After that I have no other update, so basically my SIM card is not configured for 3G and all those net application yet.

I have to go to Maxis Centre again, was rushing the other day, so it was not settled yet.

When I was browsing and surveying which phone to buy, I sort of attracted to this model Nokia 6730 Classic. Little did I know that it is among the latest model - I thought latest would have E or N denotes to the model. It only came out less than 3 months ago. Well, I don't really follow all this so I don't really know.

So when I went to Low Yat, most of the sales ppl don't know about the model, but some do. I decided to buy full set original instead of AP set (price difference is only RM100 ++. For now not fully utilising the new toy yet. ;)

Why do pigeons fly upside down in Liverpool?
Because there's nothing worth shitting on.
What's long, scouse and goes round corners? The dole queue.
What do you call a scouser in a white shellsuit? The bride.
What do you call a scouser in a suit? The defendant.
What does a Liverpool fan do after watching his team win the Champion League?
Turns his Playstation off and gets into bed.

Here We Go Again....

Just when I thought I managed to ditch it, it comes right to my face..AGAIN!!! This time its about work and things that I have handed over to this person. Yet somehow he feels overloaded and pass the balls to my court. Previously I know he is among these people that underestimates me and the work that I do. Now that he is filling my shoes, he finally feels the heat, the pressure, and all that comes with it.

The best part yet, I have to cover for him..hahahaha.. I admit my new job role is less of a burden compared to the old one, but still I have to face different challenges. I managed to do my previous job when I was in his place all by myself, some support here and there, which is normal, but not until to the part I give it totally to somebody else..

Whatever it is, I'll still help. More to add to my resume, and its a win-win situation to the team.

Note to self: NEVER underestimate what other people do. They may have their own challenges and you may not even know it unless being put in that position.

Love You Anyway

My boss IM'ed me? Is the dead guy from Boyzone? I quickly turned to him and ask 'What?' He replied 'Oh..the Gate something, he died yesterday, age 33 or something..' and I said 'Jap eh..I google..'

And I found out Stephen Gately died, choke by his own vomit after a night lad out, obviously he was pretty wasted. (Eww...gross!!!)They have just made a comeback last year I think, and this is definitely my favorite song.

Love You Anyway – Boyzone

Tell me what you want from me
So I can try to make you see
That I’m in no position for giving
Cos’ all I see you do is lie
And I can’t help but close my eyes
And wonder ’bout you in my life
I’m drowning in your tears
I’m delirious
Are you serious?
What goes on in your head?
I’m just curious
Cos’ I’m hanging here
Got me dangling here
Think your love, oh your love has got off my head
It’s unbelievably hard to love you
But I love you anyway
I’ve been trying too hard not to love you
But I love you anyway
Oh, I should’ve known
That you’d go and steal my eyes
Oh, I should’ve known
From then on I’d lose my life
I’m delirious
Are you serious?
What goes on in your head?
I’m just curious
Cos’ I’m hanging here
Got me dangling here
Think your love, oh your love has got off my head
It’s unbelievably hard to love you
But I love you anyway
I’ve been trying too hard not to love you
But I love you anyway
It’s so incredibly hard to love you
But I love you anyway
And every time I try too hard not to love you
I love you anyway
I don’t get it, I really don’t get it
I try to walk away but my feet won’t let me
I don’t get it, I just don’t get it
I try to walk away but my feet won’t let me
You have me baby
You drive me crazy
You have me baby
You drive me crazy
It’s unbelievably hard to love you
But I love you anyway
I’ve been trying too hard not to love you B
ut I love you anyway
You have me baby
It’s so incredibly hard to love you
You drive me crazy
But I love you anyway
And every time I try to hard not to love you
But I love you anyway
I don’t get it, I really don’t get it
I try to walk away but my feet won’t let me
I don’t get it, I just don’t get it
I try to walk away but my feet won’t let me..

Simple yet I like it. As for the death, not saddened by it (jahat tak?).

Open Jangan tak Open....

Raya time = Open House. Working in PD does have big (foodie) advantage in this festive season. Most of the people are married and we the 'singles' will always get invited to their houses. Some even invited the singles only. I did host open house 2-3 years back, but not this year, too much work and too many invites to begin with.

Lets start with last week when I came back from long Raya break:-

  1. Wednesday 30 Sept - Hj Ismail, PD Villa
  2. Thursday 1 Oct - Kak Linda, Taman Dato'
  3. Friday - speed up back to KL before maghrib (no invites ;))

This week...the invite keeps coming:-

  1. Monday 5 Oct - Kak Nita, TNB Kuarters (actually TNB staff had marhaban from house to house, Fareha and I were invited last minute for the makan-makan)
  2. Tuesday 6 Oct - Hani, Kg Baru SiRusa
  3. Wednesday 7 Oct - Wani (don't know where the house is, will go with my hsmate, invite came in last minute, just when I started to think about my dinner plan)
  4. Thursday 8 Oct - Kak Kamsiah , Taman NLFCS
  5. Friday 9 Oct - Afandi, Masjid Tanah, Melaka (sampai Melaka tu orang jemput..hehehe... will be carpooling with Sakina)

Weekenders:
Saturday 10 Oct -

  1. BBGS OGA Raya Tea, Brickfield
  2. Su's (Shaz's friend), Wangsa Maju ke ? not sure
  3. Azee (Chem Eng friend), Klang
  4. Fareha's sis, Kepong
  5. Wati (colleague), Senawang
-don't think I can make it to all..mati oo..driving one way is already 1.5 hrs (traffic??)

Sunday 11 Oct
Suprisingly no invite yet? Sapa nak jemput aku?? Open ni..hehehe.....mati kekenyangan ;)

Update:
Today 7 Oct - Kak Yati, Teluk Kemang
Saturday 10 Oct
Yus (DIC Classmate) , Shah Alam
Amri (Colleague), Bangi

p/s: Syukur Alhamdulillah....
p/p/s: feels like important person..hehehe....

For you a thousand times over...

I bought it sometime in 2008, it was tucked in between many more unread books not so neatly arranged in a box in my store. I do not have a decent shelf to display it and maybe that is why I have totally forgotten about it. This year I made an attempt to start reading again. Eversince I started working, I can't barely even finish a book in less than 10 seatings. I will caught myself going back to the pages that I have read.

So I started off with The Diary of Anne Frank, a literature book that was discussed by other class back when I was in Form1, my class did some other books which I could not remember now. Same case with the diary, I kept on going back to the same page the next time I picked up the book, and then I decided to change to this one, The Kite Runner, I missed the chance to see the movie with a friend, conflicting schedule, so I sat and read.
I stopped when I have something to do, this is before Ramadhan. The book follows me to KL and later SP last Raya, I still have not managed to finish it. And at finally, last weekend I've read it all. What has taken me so long to read it? I figured probably because the story is so strong and many of the small details that depicts Afghanistan were beautifully written, and therefore I took time to dive into the words, and also took time to feel the emotions of each character.

It has been quite some time that I have read an emotionally binding book and this is yet by far the best that I have read. I know I may be way left behind since this book was published in 2003, but its better late than never right?

For you a thousand times over.....

p/s: there'a a mentioned of Malaysia towards end of the book, although I don't know whether what he says is true or false ;p

Memories...

This song was a hit back when I was in secondary school. Yet, I don't know another single soul who likes this song. YouTube has been diabled,

Title: Crazy for this Girl

By: Evan & Jaron

She rolls the window down
And she
Talks over the sound
Of the cars that pass us by
And I don't know why
But she's changed my mind

Chorus:

Would you look at her
She looks at me
She's got me thinking about her constantly
But she don't know how I feel
And as she carries on without a doubt
I wonder if she's figured out
I'm crazy for this girl
She was the one to hold me

The night
The sky fell down
And what was I thinking when
The world didn't end
Why didn't I know what I know now

Chorus
Right now
Face to face
All my fears
Pushed aside
And right now
I'm ready to spend the rest of my life
With you

Chorus 2x

Lebaran 1430H

Its after lunch and the office still quite. My neighbours (colleagues in next cubicles) are still out and my boss is nowhere to be seen ;)
I have just had a handover session before lunch and my head is kinda filled with -things to do- from that session. Howeverrr...I have this urge to post about my Raya this year. Many pics will be attached as the friendly IT ppl have configured all USB connections to my laptop. (at least they did something right)
My car is packed as ever with stuffs to bring back home. We started from KL on Friday at 2pm-ish.Arrived at Juru exit around 5.30pm- ish, only to be greeted with heavy traffic jam. After about 1.5 hrs crawling, we managed to arrive in SP just in time for iftar.

We had quite a full schedule, having only arrived 1+ day before Raya. First things first, pelita..and my sis bought the deco lights

We sort of hold back all the preparation until official announcement aired on TV, from then onwards, it chaos!!.

Little did I know my mom revert to using the 'kukur nyok', a traditional tool to grate coconut. It took me half an hour to finish half coconut, and we need at least easily 20 coconuts to be grated for all dish to be prepared.

LOL!! so in the end my father took all the coconuts to local grocery store and have a more industrial way done, by the machine ;) This time we even imported coconut leaves from KL so that we can make 'ketupat nasi'.
We also put up a temporary shade outside. We did all the cooking using 'kayu api' to save on cooking gas ;). besides, it free fuel..
Notice the three 'supervisor' at work 'supervising' my youngest sis doing her chores.. :p
We made dodol and my mum forgot the original recipe that we used last year, so we ends up making 4 times than what we make last year ;p. The cooking starts around 2am-ish and only finishes at 7.30 am. I was so beat up that after solat sunat Aidilfitri, I spent almost the whole day sleeping (both my sis and I)
We also had ketupat palas (I did not take any pics though..) and lots other cookies (which none that I made)

More pics on pagi Raya, we always tried to get a family photo, this year my younger sis - kakdik spend the first day with the hubby side, so she was not in.

Najia was in bad mood and I tried to 'pujuk' her to get in the mood for the photo session, not really working though....
This Raya, we also had kenduri, a wedding reception for my sis (delayed one to combign with akikah + tahlil masuk rumah baru) So all in one due to recent economics crisis..hehehe...

We ordered the cow from my uncle 'Pak Lang' and I went to see the slaughtering process but didn't have heart to stay and witness. My sister snap all the photo
The kenduri is on 5th Syawal, tahlil was done on 4th Syawal after Isya'. Some pics during preparation of tahlil + kenduri+ many others;
Preparation for kenduri went on smoothly although on D-day itself I was rushing in and out to send to send the bride for make up, pick up cupcakes and many more neverending chores. Alhamdulillah all things went well. More pics, as usual....
Cupcakes orders came from SP and all the way from Kulim, the decos are lovely and I loike ;)
more pictures....
I also bought fresh flowers from KL since its much cheaper and I have reliable supplier. Stairs deco are made of fresh flowers..
The bride....
Candid and not so candid shots...
Later that night kids have fun playing fire crackers- supplied from the long arm of the law..hehehehe..

I was using my tripod, but the subject were not static, hence the results ;p
Only on Saturday did I managed to do some visiting to my aunts place, after all the dust had settled.

At Mak Njang's place...
Most of the beautiful pictures not taken by me, my sis and nieces was doing most of the snapping as I was pretty much occupied doing other stuffs.

We head back to KL on Monday and yesterday I spent all day in KL settling stuffs. Today back to work although am still very much in Raya mood....sigh.....
